About the event
Moment to moment, a busy life can keep the nervous system in a state of high alert. At Miscellany Greene, our Community Guided Meditation is designed to facilitate Amygdala Regulation—the process of calming the brain's fear center to improve focus, emotional resilience, and sleep quality.
This is a secular, non-religious practice that uses the beauty of poetry and nature-based imagery as a springboard for relaxing visualizations.
Meditating in a group setting fosters Social Cohesion, releasing oxytocin (the "bonding hormone") to combat the isolation of modern life and create a shared field of tranquility.
Your comfort is a prerequisite for relaxation. We provide mats, pillows, and blankets to support your physical body, as well as canvas chairs for those who prefer an upright, seated experience. You are also welcome to bring any personal items that help you feel grounded.
This event is donation-based, reflecting our commitment to making mental sanctuary accessible…
